See a different side of Scotland this year ... one without mountains, midges or crowds of tourists. Galloway has  a fantastic sea to sky landscape, from safe sandy beaches and  rugged cliff top walks to rolling hills and quiet historic ruins.   The cottage with its peaceful atmosphere is a wonderful place to  unwind for a short break or longer holiday. At Craiglemine Cottage  you can be sure of a warm welcome all year.  Whether you prefer activities such as walking, cycling, fishing and  golf; or like being more relaxed seeing beautiful formal gardens or  some of our 6000 year history – all are in easy reach in this lovely  part of Scotland. 2017 is been designated the year of History, Heritage & Archaeology  in Scotland. Galloway has a huge number of historic sites from  ancient stone circles to more recent castles and churches - many  are free to visit.  Click HERE to visit our History page.  The Galloway Forest - the UK’s first Dark Sky Park is to the north.  The cottage garden also has a wonderful expansive view of the night  sky. We provide evening meals on request and can cater for most dietary  requirements.   WiFi is available throughout the cottage.  Children of all ages welcome - free for under 6 years.          Experience for yourself the beauty and variety of rural Galloway.
